Giselle
Bisson has 16 years of experience in high technology marketing and
journalism and has participated in two dozen product launches for
technology companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Xerox, Radius, Media
Vision, Cirrus Logic, ASK/Ingres, Sun Microsystems (TOPS division),
Phoenix Technologies and Citrix as well as dozens of early-stage
startups.
A
graduate of the Journalism department at San Jose State University,
she started her communications career as a magazine editor. Her
writing (on topics as varied as business, art, health, politics
and travel) has appeared in Upside, InfoWorld, MacWeek, San Jose
Metro, the San Jose Mercury News, MicroTimes, SF Weekly, Sunset,
City Sports and San Francisco.
She
was part of the original management team that positioned and launched
CyberMedia's "First Aid", one of the best-selling Windows
software products in history. As Director of Corporate PR for
CyberMedia, Giselle lead the company's public relations and investor
relations through a successful initial public stock offering named
"IPO of the Year (1996) by Red Herring magazine. Acquired
in 1998 by Network Associates, the CyberMedia products had a second
successful IPO as McAffee.com.
She
was Director of Corporate Communications for Everypath, a Santa
Clara company that is developing a technology that enables consumers
and businesses to receive Internet web sites on wireless devices
like Palm and Handspring "handhelds", WAP-enabled cell
phones, ordinary telephones and Interactive television sets. High
visibility in the media helped Everypath secure $100 million in
top-tier funding from HP, Sun, Accenture, Liberate, Ignition,
Amerindo, Sevin Rosen and USVP.
Previously,
she was public relations director for Enfish Technology, maker
of the critically-acclaimed enterprise software application, One
Space. Enfish is now funded by Intel and has a strategic partnership
with Franklin Covey.
Giselle
also participated in the introduction of Hewlett Packards
first ink jet printer and palmtop PC and the first consumer software
launch for the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center.
Giselle
has worked on staff and as a consultant for leading agencies including
Ketchum Advertising, A&R Partners, Upstart Communications,
Copithorne & Bellows Public Relations (acquired by Porter
Novelli) and Phase Two Strategies.
As
a corporate spokesperson (both in print and on-camera), Giselle
has been quoted or featured in major media, including the New
York Times, Salon, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and Red
Herring.
